Indigo is one of the oldest known plant pigments. It has always been in great demand and only a few centuries ago, indigo was worth more than gold. In this workshop you will get a short introduction into the history of indigo dyeing as well as information and tips for the practice. We will first prepare a dye bath together. We will show you how to dip dye and introduce you to shibori techniques.

Bring your own clothes and fabrics to dye in the vat. Natural indigo is best suited to natural fibres. So make sure your fabric is 100% cotton, viscose or linen.

Please bring gloves, apron and dyeing materials (fabrics, clothes).
