European Heritage Days: of forests, oak groves and paring knives
27. September @ 17:00 - 19:00

We’ll be taking a walk through the region’s oak coppices, accompanied by experienced Nature Park staff. Oak coppices of this type first appeared around 300 years ago. The bark of the oaks was used for leather tanning and the wood is still a sustainable source of firewood and fence posts today. Traditional management practices with their tools, people and stories will be presented. During the hike, the characteristics of the biotope and its importance for its typical inhabitants will also be discussed.
