On the trails of the Battle of the Bulge

As part of the 79th anniversary of the start of the Battle of the Bulge, the Öewersauer Nature Park is offering an excursion to several local memorials on Sunday, 10 December.
The route follows the advance of the 26th US Infantry Division (“Yankee Division”) in December 1944 and January 1945 and passes, among others, the Schumannseck.
The tour will be led by Frank Rockenbrod, Chairman of the National Libération Memorial a.s.b.l., and is in French and questions can then be answered in Luxembourgish.
The tour will start at 09:30 at the “Our common Heritage” exhibition in front of the town hall in Boulaide.
The excursion will then continue by bus, which will bring participants back to Boulaide at 16:00.
Snacks will be provided throughout the day.
The route is relatively easy but not suitable for people with reduced mobility or pushchairs.
Most of the excursion will take place outdoors and sometimes in the forest. It is therefore recommended to dress appropriately for the weather: comfortable, warm and waterproof clothing and walking shoes are recommended.
Participation costs 10€ per person (except students and adolescents up to 18 years).
